About the Artist
In case we haven’t met yet I’m Lucienne Buckner but most people call me Lu.
If there’s a place for the natural world in your soul I can help you make a place for nature in your home or workspace.
At my studio in Bridgeport Connecticut I create upbeat and colorful ways to keep the inspiring imagery of nature close by.
Would you like to see where I work? It’s called METRO Art Studios.

Monarch Butterfly Bouquet, Resin
I graduated college with a BA in Studio Art and immediately delved into the world of graphic and product design as a package designer in Connecticut and then New York City.
After working in commercial design for years I realized so many people had longing to give nature a more prestigious place in their lives. How about you?
Does the sight of bees make you happy? Bees are small but powerful symbols of the importance of nature. Bees historically represent industriousness, prosperity and growth. Perfect for your home office!
You can have moment of pure magic and sense of connection with nature in your own space. Imagine a fluttering sea of orange and black against the green backdrop of the forest. Monarch butterflies at rest could be a perfect accent light in your bedroom.
Would you like to evoke a state of calm, unhurried focus like relaxing n the woods or a garden? Some pieces from my snail series might be perfect for the place you use to plan your day.
FUN FACTS
1 I like to do guerilla gardening and plant wildflower seeds almost anywhere they might grow.
2 Over my lifetime I have owned almost every type of small pet. Chickens, lizards, Dogs, Parrots, Turtles, Snakes, Hermit Crabs, Mice, Rats, Hamsters, Gerbils, Rabbits, Frogs, Snails, and many kinds of fish.
3 I was very fortunate to be able to put “sweat equity” into my new studio during the summer of covid. I worked on it almost every day and it gave me a sense of hope for the future at a difficult time.
